Jane Pratt, New Yorker, Publisher, Feminist And Mother Announces She’s “In For Quinn”
Jane Pratt, established feminist publisher, editor and activist New Yorker today proudly declared her support for Christine Quinn’s bid for mayor in a video released by the Quinn campaign. In the video, Pratt describes the powerful impact of electing New York City’s first female mayor and hails Quinn’s demonstrated leadership.
Opening by talking about her own daughter, Pratt shares how personally meaningful electing a woman as mayor of New York City would be, stating, “To be standing there with my daughter when a super cool, sassy broad is elected mayor of New York City is going to mean the world to me. I’m going to give my daughter the biggest hug over that.”
Pratt continued by praising Quinn: “She’s not afraid to be pushy; she’s proud of it, she owns it. And at the same time, she’s also not afraid to be vulnerable and to let people see her struggles. We all have struggles.”
