Prominent Democratic Activists Victor and Sarah Kovner Endorse Christine Quinn for Mayor
Victor and Sarah Kover, two of New York’s most prominent Democratic activists and fundraisers endorsed Christine Quinn for Mayor today citing her progressive credentials and extensive experience and responsibility as Speaker for the last seven years.
"We have known and admired Chris for many years. In our view, she is clearly the most experienced candidate to lead the City in the future given her extensive experience and responsibility as Speaker of the City Council for the last seven years. She has proven that she is a progressive on a wide range of issues from protecting a woman’s right to choose, the rights of minorities within our City, and just recently, to her support for paid sick leave for almost one million NYC workers. We are proud to say that we are active in support of her candidacy." - Victor and Sarah Kovner.
Victor Kovner, a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP, previously served as New York City Corporations Counsel, under Mayor David Dinkins. Sarah Kovner, was a member of the New York Women for Hillary Council, served as the Deputy Director of the New York State Clinton-Gore campaign and was a special assistant to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services throughout the Clinton administration. She also serves on the board of a number of progressive groups, including NARAL Pro Choice New York and Alliance for Justice. They rank among the top bundlers for President Obama.
“The support of Victor and Sarah Kovner is like receiving the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval in Democratic politics,” said Christine Quinn. “There are few people in New York with the progressive bona fides of the Kovners and I couldn’t be happier that they are supporting my candidacy for mayor.”
