Council Member Inez Dickens Endorses Chris Quinn for Mayor

Noting her extensive record of delivering results, Harlem's Council Member Inez Dickens endorsed City Council Speaker Christine Quinn for mayor today. Council Member Dickens highlighted several of Speaker Quinn's accomplishments in helping the middle class and those striving to get there, and praised Speaker Quinn as a driving force for improving New Yorkers' lives.

"Speaker Quinn's work to improve the lives of hardworking New Yorkers has been remarkable," said Council Member Dickens. "I have watched as she demonstrated true leadership and worked to combat gun and gang violence in our communities, brought more healthy food options to underserved areas, protected affordable housing and successfully passed New York's historical living wage law."

Council Member Dickens continued, "Speaker Quinn's extensive record is a testament to her dedication and ability to get things done. No matter what the challenge, Speaker Quinn works aggressively and tirelessly, and she delivers results for New Yorkers. I've seen all that she has accomplished as Speaker; she is undoubtedly the person who should - and will - be New York's next mayor."

Speaker Quinn stated, "I couldn't be more proud to have Council Member Dickens' endorsement. Council Member Dickens knows the importance of getting things done for the New Yorkers we were elected to serve. I've been proud to work with her in the Council year after year of delivering results, and I'm honored to have her support in my campaign for mayor."

Council Member Dickens represents the City Council's 9th district, which includes the neighborhoods of Central Harlem and Morningside Heights.
